Nasa releases first images from Mars

Now NASA has another set of eyes on the Red Planet. Overnight came this first proper photo from the Mars insight probe a selfie showing the lander primed and ready to satrt work. It was taken by its robotic arm folded away on the right hand side on the picture. Congratulations flooded in from around the world and from high above it. The probe has now unfurled its intricately stowed solar panels there its sole source of power for all its investigations in the coming months. Once its batteries are fully charged it will start deploying a seismometer to measure Mars quakes and a burrowing temperature probe. Looking within could explain why mars is so different to earth.

But actually if you want to understand how a planet formed and how it a evolved over its life, you have to understand the inside.

Зонд теперь развернул свои замысловатые солнечные панели и стал единственным источником энергии для всех своих исследований в ближайшие месяцы. Как только его батареи будут полностью заряжены, он начнет развертывать сейсмометр для измерения землетрясений на Марсе и зарывающейся датчик температуры. Взгляд внутрь может объяснить, почему Марс так отличается от Земли.
